<p>The Mateus Castle near Vila Real north of the Douro Valley in northern Portugal gave the name to Mateus Rose. This is a sweet rose wine that has become one of the most famous branded wines in the world.<br><br>The vinification follows the traditional method for white wines and the fermentation is slow and without skins in stainless steel vats at a controlled temperature of 16ºC.<br>After cold stabilization, the wine is filtered and bottled. The entire process is carried out with the utmost care to always ensure the unique style, colour and freshness of Mateus.</p><h3>Tasting notes:</h3><p>Bright pink to red in the glass. A fresh seductive wine, with aromatic intensity. Balanced on the palate, soft with a slightly tangy finish.<br><br>Grape varieties: Baga, Rufete, Tinta Barroca, Touriga Franca.<br>Drinking temperature: 6 - 8 °C.<br><br>An ideal aperitif, but also goes well with light dishes, fish, seafood, white meat, grilled dishes, salads, but also with pasta or oriental dishes: Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese or Thai.</p>
