<p>The port wine house Delaforce was founded in 1868 by George Henry Delaforce. Soon the name Delaforce was known worldwide.<br>Since 01 January 2008 the famous port wine house Real Companhia Velha has been part of Delaforce.&nbsp;</p><p>The company celebrated its 250th anniversary in 2006 and is therefore not only the oldest port wine house, but also the oldest company in Portugal!</p><p>The grapes for the production come from the upper Douro valley. The valley is located in the northeast of Portugal and is known for its narrow terraces.<br><br>Before the Fine Ruby Port is bottled, it is aged for 3 years in large oak barrels.<br><br>Awards:<br>- Silver medal in 2005 at the International Wine &amp; Spirits Competition</p><h3>Tasting notes:</h3><p>Strong ruby red in the glass. Very fruity, rich and smooth on the nose and palate. Aromas of berries like blackcurrants and cherries. Long lasting in the finish.<br><br>The port wine harmonizes very well with various types of cheese.</p>
